Death to Life - We began the project by researching life and death, more specifically suicide and various ways in which we could capture this. Our test shots consisted of both portraiture and still life. After a discussion we came to the conclusion that the portraits were a lot stronger however our concept behind them did not show reversal. It was after this that we came up with the idea, of showing the reverse of life to death and the idea of someone being saved.

We did another shoot to show this concept and used a carrier bag over the head of the model to show suffocation and also photographed the model in the bath to capture images that portrayed drowning. The feedback given from that shoot was to try capturing the images all at the same angle as well as making the imagery greener and photographing the model as his head was risen above the water. Another shoot took place where we were able to photograph a large amount of images and achieve the photographs that we wanted. The dark and mysterious lighting with the use of a torch to highlight areas of the face as well as the movement of the water.
